Analyzing a dial list

The Dial List Analyzer allows you to view a sample SOQL query that Connect will use to perform a list refresh. It also displays further information from Salesforce. This information details how the query will be executed, and its performance cost in the database.

What is the analyzer for?

The information provided by the analyzer can help identify dynamic dial lists that execute slowly when refreshing. It can also show whether or not a dial list query uses indexed fields that improve performance.

Providing this information makes it easier to understand how you can improve a dial list. This is most useful in complex Salesforce orgs with large numbers of records.

How do I access the analyzer?

To analyze a dial list open the dial list in read mode and click Analyze.

What does the analyzer tell me?

SOQL Query

The SOQL Query section displays a sample SOQL query that would be used to refresh a dial list.

To keep the query readable, we only display a single active or processed dial entry to exclude. When the query is built to perform a refresh, your full list of active and processed dial entry objects are included.

When viewing a query for an ownership dial list, the user ID shown into the sample query will be yours and not an actual dial list user.

Refresh Timings

The refresh timings show you how long queries for this dial list have taken to execute on the Salesforce database. The timings include average, minimum, and maximum times. If you have a multi-user list, you will see individual timings for each user.

Query Plan Analysis

The query plan analysis shows information from Salesforce on how this SOQL query will be run on their database server and its cost.

For more information on the results shown see Developer Console Query Plan Tool FAQ (Salesforce help).
