Command Runner applet

The Command Runner applet runs a defined command on an external system. Use the applet to select the command.

These commands are client specific, so the commands generally access most of the required information from the client database rather than from the applet. In addition, you can configure the Command Runner applet to use transient data, stored in an IVR Slot by, for example, the IVR Collect Digit String applet.

The Command Runner enables the caller to perform tasks such as:

  • Changing the date that a customer wants a parcel delivered. The customer specifies the date for delivery using the IVR system.
  • Topping up a customer's account balance using credit card details held in the client database. The customer specifies the amount that they want to increase their balance by using the IVR system.
  • Activating a customer. The command activates a new customer's details automatically.

You can only use this applet in an interaction plan that routes calls, and not other types of interactions.
