Vonage recommends performing user administration tasks in the User Admin area of the VCC Admin Portal. Vonage Contact Center account user roles and Vonage Contact Center user types differ slightly in User Admin from those used in User Access. This page describes the concepts as well as the differences and mappings between licenses, roles and user types in User Access and User Admin.

Account user roles/licenses

When creating a user in User Access, you assign them an Account user role. If you create a user in User Admin, you give them a License. Account user roles and licenses determine which tasks a user can perform in the VCC Admin Portal and which permissions to groups, queues and lines they have. The mappings between the two appear in the below table:

You cannot assign an agent user role in User Access. To create a user and assign them an Agent license, use User Admin.


Updating user roles or licenses in one area automatically updates their equivalents in the other.
