Adding Connect to a page layout in Salesforce Lightning Experience

After you install Connect, you must make Connect available to agents to use. You can add Connect to page layouts or the utility bar, or both. To add Connect to the utility bar, see Adding Connect to the utility bar in Salesforce Lightning Experience.

To add Connect to a page layout, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to a record of the object type to which you want to add Connect. For example, to add Connect to contacts, go to a contact's record.
  2. To edit the record's page layout, click the cog icon in the upper-right corner, and click Edit Page in the menu that appears. The Lightning App Builder for the applicable object appears.
  3. In the list of Lightning components on the left side of the window, locate the Dialler component. The component is within the Custom - Managed list. Drag the component to the desired location in the record.
  4. To make the component available for agents, click Activation.... Assign the page layout as a default for the org, app, or app, record type and profile. For more information about activating page layout changes, see Salesforce help. Click Close.
  5. Click Save. Click Back to return to the record.

Connect now appears in the page layout for your chosen object type for the applicable agents.
